Microwave Egg-less Chocolate Cake in 5 mins

Chocolate cake is one such dish that every person can’t resist to have, be it one slice or more and what’s  more exciting is when you can cook the same at home in your microwave in less than 5 mins with minimum ingredients. So, next time when any uninvited guest comes to your home and you have nothing to serve in desserts this is an easy to go recipe for you.

Preparation time: 8-10 mins

Cooking time: 5 mins

Below are the ingredients:-

  • 1 & 1/2 cup All Purpose flour (Maida)
  • 1 cup Whole Milk (at room temperature)
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda

Let’s quickly come to the method of preparation:-

Step 1:- Take a microwave safe dish and grease it using some oil. Make sure to use a wax paper or aluminum foil to line up at the bottom so that the cake doesn’t stick and it is easy to take it out from the dish.

Step 2:- Now pour the milk into a container (can be a plastic one or a glass bowl). Now add sugar to it and Mix it well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Step 3:- Sieve maida, cocoa powder, baking powder & baking soda in milk mixture. Combine all of these to make sure there are no lumps of any dry ingredients.

Step 4:- Add vanilla extract and oil to the above the mixture and mix it well.

Step 5:- Finally add 1 tbsp lemon juice and mix everything well again.

Step 6:- Time to transfer the batter in microwave safe dish and switch the microwave to high power for 5 mins.

Step 7:- After 5 mins try to insert the toothpick and if it comes out clean your cake is ready.

Step 8:- Now it’s time to take out the dish from microwave and make sure you keep it aside for 4-5 mins.

Step 9:- After 5 mins gently transfer the cake on a cooling rack by keeping the microwave dish in an upside down position.

Step 10:- Your cake is now completely ready. You can enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or topped up with some chocolate syrup or decorating it with gems or how about using some dry fruits may be!!

Things to remember:-

  • The quantity of sugar and cocoa powder can be changed according to our taste buds.
  • Try to use deeper and wider microwave safe dish so that the cake batter does not overflow from dish.
  • Power setting for each microwave may differ so, after 5 mins, if the cake is not cooked, allow it to cook for another 2 or 3 mins in microwave.
